Stay at the Estate
Southwestern hospitality awaits your arrival in a classic setting that gently eases you into the appeal of every detail.
About the Estate
This 3,800-square-foot home sits on a tree-filled half-acre in the original part of town: South Del Rio. Considered one of the region’s most attractive and solidly built estates through the mid and late 20th century, this was a place where family and friends from the community would regularly convene and entertain one another in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s.

In 2020, after sitting unoccupied for several years, the home was purchased and restored by one of the original settling families of the region: the Blanks/July family. After the purchase, the family restored the home to its glory days of beauty and prestige. Throughout the process, over 75% of the original materials were preserved or restored and left in the home.
Throughout the property, there are countless spaces designed to satisfy every mood and desire. The original tile and wood floors complement the thick masonry walls, giving you the feeling of being immersed in a small castle. All the light pouring through the metal 1940s windows bounces off the walls and structures, illuminating the home’s architectural curves and design. If uncompromising and timeless beauty speak to your soul, SugarBear Estates won’t disappoint.
The Blanks/July family is grateful for family friend Lisa Green’s indispensable stewardship throughout the restoration process of SugarBear Estates.
